MWLS Preseason Showcase – Recap
August 12th, 2018 – Orange County, CA
Long snappers from all over Southern California were in attendance this past weekend to participate in the first MWLS Showcase of the season! Each snapper charted in field goals and punts while wearing helmet and shoulder pads. The overall winner was 2019 Mater Dei HS Long Snapper Aidan Livingston where he finished at the top of the overall charting board(68/80) and won our double elimination bracket tournament! Livingston currently holds offers from Boston College and Air Force!
2021 Glendora HS Long Snapper JT Greep finished with the highest Field Goal charting score(34/36). He was an absolute machine with perfect location and perfect laces. With three years left of high school, the sky is the limit on what this kid can achieve!
2019 Calabasas HS Long Snapper Matthew Rhodes might just be one of the best snappers in the country when it comes to field goals. He has phenomenal size(6’3″ 230lbs) to go along with his accuracy and perfect laces. Rhodes finished with a score of 32/36 on Field Goal Charting portion for the day! FG Charting Notables: Lopez, Livingston, Garcia and Sicaeros.
2019 Oak Hills HS Long Snapper Adrian Tamayo finished with the top Punt Charting score of 35/36! Tamayo was unstoppable during our punt session where he demonstrated blocking ability as well as snap & release.
2021 Notre Dame HS Long Snapper Leroy Orozco is one of the most consistent snappers within his class finishing with a score of 33/36 on the punt charting phase with tremendous accuracy and spiral! Punt Charting Notables: Barcelos, Livingston, Villarreal, Garcia, Carmer, Ruple & Sicaeros.
Other Top Performers:
Andrew Gonneville (2019 Trabuco Hills HS): Tall(6’3″) and strong frame with the most incredible follow through on each snap. Versatile athlete that can snap & block or snap & release down field! He will be an absolute steal for the 2019 recruiting class!
Jacob Garcia (2020 Servite HS): One of the best long snappers in the country that has the ability to be one of the premier snap & block prospects at the next level! Snaps one of the best spirals you will see with .68-.70 speed on a consistent basis!
Nick Barcelos (2020 Santa Margarita HS): Hands down one of the most athletic long snappers in the country! Plays a significant role on offense in the Trinity League and has become one of the elite long snappers in the Southern California!
Troy Sicaeros (2020 JSerra HS): Long snapper who was dropped weight to increase athleticsm and in return has become one of the most consistent snappers in his class! He has become an absolute workhorse and student of the position!
Tony Villarreal (2020 Mission Viejo HS): Massive prospect that snaps with incredible power. He will also be a premier snap & block prospect at the next level especially having experience playing on the offensive line at Mission Viejo!
Mateo Lopez (2020 Edison HS): Watch out for this 2020 prospect! He is turning into one of the best snappers in Southern California! Once he locks in his consistency, he will be an absolute machine that can easily play at the Division 1 level!
